For the second in this batch of ink reviews, I have selected Noodler’s Bad Green Gator, which is one of the “Warden” series, resistant to the dark arts of the forger. Why I would even be signing an important letter, or a cheque, with green ink I’m not really sure, but let’s park that thought.

Noodler’s Socrates – Ink Review
I don’t know if this is the real reason that this Noodler’s ink is called “Socrates”, but in Book IV of Plato’s Republic, Socrates states that purple is the most beautiful colour. Google, you are a wonderful thing – without you I would not have made that connection.

Noodler’s Ottoman Rose – Ink Review
For the last in this batch of ink reviews I have chosen Noodler’s Ottoman Rose. I originally bought this ink as I thought it would be the natural partner to Ottoman Azure. Pink or rose inks would not normally come high up my list, but the completist in me wouldn’t let me buy one without the other.

Noodler’s Ottoman Azure – Ink Review
The fourth in this batch of tests is for Noodler’s Ottoman Azure. When I originally bought this ink I thought the name was chosen to evoke the deep blue skies of Turkey, which was reinforced by the label until I looked closer and saw the text “The color of the tiles within the Sultan’s six minarettes”. A trip to Wikipedia came next.
